Role: Technical Author
Core Terms of Reference
· Producing technical documentation in accordance with client specifications including amendments
· Delivering draft technical publications within agreed timescales and to an agreed company and client acceptable quality standard
· Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of all technical tasks as required
· Successfully expound on a variety of topics to enable other professionals to easily understand and further use the company documentation that you write
· Convert strategy into an acceptable, digestible copy
· Editing, proofreading and indexing
· Testing the written material with users
· Any other reasonable requests.
To be suitable for this role you will:
· Have experience working as a technical author and be comfortable using documentation and editing tools (Office, Adobe, RoboHelp suites)
· Have experience of working with content management/editing tools (XML, SGML, HTML, WordPress, Joomla, FrameMaker)
· Be able to use document workflow and collaboration tools (Confluence, SharePoint, Github)
· Have a keen eye for detail with strong problem-solving skills and a clear and concise writing style
· Have a flair for turning technical subjects and jargon into easily understood text with an ability to absorb information quickly
· Use delivery planning tools (Jira)
· Use Stakeholder management and communication tools (Teams, email, instant messaging apps)
· Have an analytical mind and an inquisitive nature
· Work closely with software engineers and developers
· Have excellent IT skills and knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and protocols. Adhere to technical standards S1000D and ASD-STE100

You must have, or be eligible to obtain, UK SC or DV Security Clearance.
